Jane is truly one of the nicest people you will have the good fortune to meet. In her retirement, she spends her time taking amazing photos of the Fraser River and volunteering with numerous local agencies. I utterly love why she is a superhero, after all there are so many people in need of kindness from a person like Jane.
I will say that Luke took to the cape like a duck to water. He even used a cone as a coordinated hat. If you can’t read his messy writing, he’s a superhero because he “kills calories”. Some might call that villain behaviour…..
Little tip: If half-way through a workout with Luke you feel like attacking him, don’t forget he has super powers!
Despite saying that she needed more time to think of a superhero attribute, Katya managed to come up with her defining superhero characteristic quite quickly. Katya is amazing – she has volunteered and worked with marginalized women throughout the Lower Mainland including the notorious Downtown Eastside and she currently assists recent immigrants with their transition to Canadian society. She’s a pretty amazing woman who does good stuff in this world!
Please meet Jackie! Jackie is an amaaaaaazing mom of two phenomenally fantastic charismatic genius girls (including yours truly). She worked full-time while raising us little angels and now spends her “free” time giving back to the her community (as if my sister and I weren’t enough!). Most recently, she organized and mc’d a golf tournament with her local Lions Club to raise money for Literacy in the Cowichan Valley (the literacy agency recently suffered cuts)
When I asked her why she was a superhero, it took her all of a gigasecond to come up with this answer. I’m proud to introduce her as my first local superhero.
